The number of possible answer sequences is 25 = 32.

The number of sequences having 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 correct answers is 1, 5, 10, 10, 5 and 1, respectively.

Since six candidates were equally best and seven didn't so as well, the six must have had three correct answers. This can result only from the correct answers given above.
